About us – specialists in private boat hire on the Thames
The Thames Leisure boat hire company was established is 1984 with the purchase of the Tideway by husband and wife team Mr and Mrs Britton. The Britton family have an extensive working history and reputation amongst the river Thames dating right the way back to the 1700’s.
Mr Britton’s career on the Thames begun at the young age of sixteen following the footsteps of his father William Britton and generations of Britton’s before him.
After a hugely successful first five years of the Tideway private boat hire on the Thames, Mr and Mrs Britton purchased the Miyuki Maru from Holland in 1989.
This was followed by the acquisition of the freehold of Swan Pier and the purchase of the moored London Regalia in 1994. Shortly after in 1998, Thames Leisure expanded again with the purchase of the private boat charter, the ‘Thomas More’, which was renamed the ‘William B’ after Mr Britton’s father.
The fleet was then expanded yet again in 2001 with the purchase of our largest cruising vessel the Dutch Master. Our varied fleet allows us to cater our river boat hire for your exact needs and requirements.
Since then, Thames Leisure has strengthened its reputation to offer exceptional boat hire on the Thames. We pride ourselves on developing and maintaining our five key goals…
